January Style Inspiration

Here is a collection of pieces that I've been loving lately, whether I own them myself or have been eyeing them online. Since Christmas has come and gone, I've been trying to steer away from the red and plaid while still incorporating warm, winter pieces.

1. J.Crew Factory Ruffle Shirt //
I absolutely love the ruffle trend, whether it's a ruffle collar, sleeves, or both. I have the red plaid version of this shirt and would love to add this colour to my wardrobe. During the winter, it obviously calls for another layer on top. The collar looks so cute peeking up from a sweater! Today, J. Crew factory has an additional 30% off regular priced items (and 40% off clearance), so it's definitely worth considering.

2. Chayle Pearl Drop Earrings //
I received these earrings for Christmas and I love them so much. Normally I wear pearl studs every single day, so I thought I'd ~switch it up~ and wear some pearl drop earrings. Although they're a bit dressier than what I usually wear, I'm going to make an effort to incorporate them with casual outfits.

3. Aritzia Camel Scarf //
My boyfriend gave me this scarf for Christmas, after I referred him to my Birthday/Christmas Wishlist board on Pinterest. It's 100% wool, but not scratchy at all. It's also quite large and thick, so I've been wearing it as a shawl. I think the camel colour is so chic! It's currently sold out online, but I'm sure it will be back in stock in no time.

4. Club Monaco Wool Hat //
The bow on this hat is so sweet!

5. Canada Goose Trillium Parka //
My Canada Goose is hands down the biggest investment piece in my closet and one of my most worn items during the winter. I wear it practically everyday from December to around mid March. The coat is such good quality and I know that I'll wear it for years to come.

6. Green Hunter Boots //
During the winter, I wear either Sorels or black Hunters with sock inserts. While Hunters aren't exactly the warmest, they're also much cuter than my clunky Sorels, so I've been getting a lot of use out of them. I've been contemplating purchasing another colour of Hunters to mix things up.

7. Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Sandwash Pink //
I swatched a bunch of lipsticks at Sephora and settled upon Sandwash Pink. For me, it is a great "my lips but better" shade. This is actually the exact shade that Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day. If you're on the hunt for a good nude lipstick, I highly recommend Bobbi Brown as they carry a GREAT selection. Apparently, they work so well as nude lipsticks because of their brown undertone.

8. Banana Republic Wool Cape // (similar)
Although I'm trying to save my money before a trip to NYC in February, I bought this on a whim. To be fair, I think that this is a perfect winter coat for NYC on a warmer day, plus it was on sale.
