Valentine's Day Gift Guide

1. Essie Nail Polish in "Muchi Muchi" - I have this colour and I think it's the perfect pink!

5.  Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb Rollerball Perfume - Rollerballs are a great option if don't want to buy a $100 bottle of perfume!

6. Mac Lipstick in "Russian Red" - A shade that is flattering on a variety of skin tones.

7.  Chloé Eau de Parfum - One of my favourites! It's quite florally, but it definitely does not smell like your grandmother's perfume.

January Style Inspiration

Here is a collection of pieces that I've been loving lately, whether I own them myself or have been eyeing them online. Since Christmas has come and gone, I've been trying to steer away from the red and plaid while still incorporating warm, winter pieces.

1. J.Crew Factory Ruffle Shirt //
I absolutely love the ruffle trend, whether it's a ruffle collar, sleeves, or both. I have the red plaid version of this shirt and would love to add this colour to my wardrobe. During the winter, it obviously calls for another layer on top. The collar looks so cute peeking up from a sweater! Today, J. Crew factory has an additional 30% off regular priced items (and 40% off clearance), so it's definitely worth considering.

2. Chayle Pearl Drop Earrings //
I received these earrings for Christmas and I love them so much. Normally I wear pearl studs every single day, so I thought I'd ~switch it up~ and wear some pearl drop earrings. Although they're a bit dressier than what I usually wear, I'm going to make an effort to incorporate them with casual outfits.

3. Aritzia Camel Scarf //
My boyfriend gave me this scarf for Christmas, after I referred him to my Birthday/Christmas Wishlist board on Pinterest. It's 100% wool, but not scratchy at all. It's also quite large and thick, so I've been wearing it as a shawl. I think the camel colour is so chic! It's currently sold out online, but I'm sure it will be back in stock in no time.

4. Club Monaco Wool Hat //
The bow on this hat is so sweet!

5. Canada Goose Trillium Parka //
My Canada Goose is hands down the biggest investment piece in my closet and one of my most worn items during the winter. I wear it practically everyday from December to around mid March. The coat is such good quality and I know that I'll wear it for years to come.

6. Green Hunter Boots //
During the winter, I wear either Sorels or black Hunters with sock inserts. While Hunters aren't exactly the warmest, they're also much cuter than my clunky Sorels, so I've been getting a lot of use out of them. I've been contemplating purchasing another colour of Hunters to mix things up.

7. Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Sandwash Pink //
I swatched a bunch of lipsticks at Sephora and settled upon Sandwash Pink. For me, it is a great "my lips but better" shade. This is actually the exact shade that Kate Middleton wore on her wedding day. If you're on the hunt for a good nude lipstick, I highly recommend Bobbi Brown as they carry a GREAT selection. Apparently, they work so well as nude lipsticks because of their brown undertone.

8. Banana Republic Wool Cape // (similar)
Although I'm trying to save my money before a trip to NYC in February, I bought this on a whim. To be fair, I think that this is a perfect winter coat for NYC on a warmer day, plus it was on sale.

Cozy In Plaid

J. Crew factory plaid ruffle shirt // J. Crew sweater (old) // Joe's Jeans // Hunter Boots // Hunter Socks // J. Crew factory plaid scarf

Hello! I hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I know I am! After exams, I saw the Nutcracker for the 10th time and went on a quick ski trip with my boyfriend before heading home. During the past week I've been seeing family, catching up with old friends, baking, shopping, and lazing around. By next week, I'll be starting my last semester of university (!!), but for the moment I'm trying not to think about all of the work that awaits me.

During the month of December I love to wear Christmas-y clothing, so lots of red and plaid. While browsing online, I came across this red plaid shirt from J. Crew and immediately added it to my cart. I absolutely love the ruffle collar! I think it looks so cute underneath sweaters. In fact, I don't plan on wearing it by itself. I paired it with this plaid scarf (currently 30$!) because who doesn't like a socially acceptable way to wear a blanket in public.
